THE MAISON
Made because nothing else was.
A love letter, in metal — and how it became a brand.
THE MAISON
A love letter, in metal — and how it became a brand.
CHAPTER ONE
We're a couple. A few years ago, one of us went looking for a necklace for the person they loved most. Not a charm with a stranger's word stamped on it. Not a chain that looked like every other chain in every other window. Something small enough to live on the skin every day — and personal enough that it could only ever belong to one person.
We searched for weeks. Then months. We never found it.
So we made it. Aura began the night that first piece was hand-finished on a kitchen counter, long before anyone else had heard the name.
CHAPTER TWO
We could have let you write a sentence. We chose to let you write a name.
The pieces we kept admiring — the ones strangers stop you in the street to ask about — were never the busiest. They were the most distilled. So we capped personalization at 10 characters and 6 symbols, picked a small set of marks that mean something (a butterfly, a paw, a moon, a heart, a star, a cross, an ampersand), and built everything around legibility at the scale of skin.
Less, on jewelry, almost always ages better than more.
CHAPTER THREE
Nothing in our workshop exists before you do.
When your order comes through, your letters are set, your symbols placed, your chain measured and tested, and the finished piece is checked by hand before it's boxed. That's why it takes a few days. That's also why, when it arrives, it doesn't feel like jewelry — it feels like a gift that knew it was for you.
